Through active participation in EICMA, the International Two-Wheeler Exhibition held in Milan last week, ACEM´s representatives have been involved in different activities and dialogues to further advance motorcycling in key areas such as urban mobility, safety and decarbonisation.
A main activity was the conference “The contribution of Powered Two Wheelers to sustainable urban mobility” , held within EICMA. Representatives from different organisations including ACEM and POLIS, the network of European cities and regions working together to develop innovative technologies and policies for local transport, exchanged on future policy frameworks to boost a cleaner, safer and more efficient mobility for urban and peri-urban areas, through further inclusion of mopeds, motorcycles, tricycles and quadricycles. ACEM highlighted the benefits of L-category to overcome challenges such as urban congestion or air pollution while offering effective solutions for personal and shared mobility, as well as for small logistics.
ACEM also took part in the panel “Propulsion Innovations: Charting the Future of Motorcycles and Light Mobility” at the Motorcycle Conference on light mobility, motorcycles and powersports, organised by the engineering consultancy Ricardo. Discussions focused on the industry’s multi pathway to decarbonisation and the role of innovation to meet evolving market needs and environmental targets.

Commenting on the event, Antonio Perlot, Secretary General of ACEM, said: “Through the years, ACEM has been involved in Motorcycle Shows, supporting our members but also increasing collaboration at governance level. These are win-win situations, complementing the commercial dimension of the exhibitions with a forward-looking vision promoting the motorcycle sector’s contribution on key issues such as urban mobility, innovation or sustainability”.
