ACEM presented the view of the industry at Public Hearing on Periodic Technical Inspection

On January 22, the Committee on Transport and Tourism of the European Parliament held a public hearing on the roadworthiness package. ACEM was invited to present the view of the industry. Antonio Perlot, ACEM Public Affairs Manager, presented MEPs with the position of the motorcycle industry regarding roadworthiness testing welcoming the initiative as an effective measure in controlling emissions from motorcycles.

ACEM was invited to  present the view of the industry. Antonio Perlot, ACEM Public Affairs Manager, presented MEPs with the position of the motorcycle industry regarding roadworthiness testing welcoming the initiative as an effective measure in controlling emissions from motorcycles. As regards safety, evidence of the MAIDS-study supports the implementation of periodic inspection as a measure to reduce the incidence of safety related defects.

ACEM supports periodic technical inspection, albeit with 4-2-2 frequency (due to low annual mileage, three to five times less than passenger cars).
