Magda Kopczynska was appointed Director-General at the Directorate-General for Mobility and Transport (DG MOVE, European Commission) in July 2023. Under her leadership, EU policies ensuring a safe, clean, accessible and inclusive free movement of people and goods are developed including those related to motorcycling. Through her experience under various management roles at the European Commission, she has gained a sound understanding of challenges faced by the sector, especially in areas such as clean transport, sustainable urban mobility and innovation. Her role in the implementation of the “Sustainable and Smart Mobility Strategy” and coordination of future policies with other Commission’s departments will be key to ensure not only decarbonisation of the transport sector but also its modernisation for the good of the citizens. Magda Kopczynska, Polish national, studied English literature at the Jagiellonian University (Krakow) and a post-graduate degree in communications at the Warsaw University.
