15/10/14. ACEM appoints new public affairs manager

The European Association of Motorcycle Manufacturers is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Ludovic Basset as its new Public Affairs Manager from October 2014.

Mr Basset is a highly experienced EU affairs specialist with more than 10 years of experience in advocacy and public affairs.

The European Association of Motorcycle Manufacturers is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Ludovic Basset as its new Public Affairs Manager from October 2014.

Mr Basset is a highly experienced EU affairs specialist with more than 10 years of experience in advocacy and public affairs. He will be taking over from Mr Antonio Perlot, who has been ACEM’s Secretary General since May 2014.

Prior to joining ACEM, Mr Basset served as Executive Director of Arcturus Group, where he led high profile campaigns and driven policy change for a wide range of clients in the areas of transport, energy and environment.

He previously worked as Senior Legal and Advocacy Officer at FIGIEFA, the International federation and political representative of automotive aftermarket distributors in Brussels, and served as a lecturer in European law and international private law.

A French national, Mr Basset holds a PhD in International Commercial Law from the University of Wales, and a LL.M in International Commercial Law from the University of Nottingham.

Commenting on his appointment, Mr Basset said: “I am delighted to be joining ACEM excellent team and to have the opportunity to campaign for motorcycling. I look forward to using my insight to ensure that the sector receives the recognition it deserves from European and national policy-makers”.

ACEM Secretary General Antonio Perlot said “I very much welcome the appointment of Mr Basset to this key job in ACEM. Ludovic is well-known for his energy, talent and expertise and I am convinced he will be an excellent asset for the industry. We have been working together in the past on L-category vehicle topics. Ludovic completes the current ACEM team at a key moment, with a new Parliament and the new Commission soon to take office.”
